Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

 

Job Summary:

Civil-Structural Field Engineer will report directly to the Area CSA Field Engineer and assist the construction team in the technical aspects of the civil, structural, and architectural scope. Individual will provide direct support to superintendents and craft professionals, including, but not limited to, work package creation and maintenance, quality control, quantity verifications, material take-offs, material verifications, design change coordination, and general problem solving – all in support of meeting project cost and time schedules. 

 

Project involves a significant civil/structural scope with lots of mass concreting and heavy-duty steel reinforcement. Candidate should be well versed in concrete operations and American Concrete Institute (ACI) Codes and Standards. Experience in cold weather concreting, mass concreting, cast-in-place concreting, or pre-cast structures desired. Candidate should be able to proficiently work in high paced environments and manage change while upholding Bechtel Safety and Quality standards.#LI-SM2

 

 Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with engineering on constructability and design issues relating to commodity installations and work sequencing.
• Provides field engineering support and assistance to superintendents, supporting personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality, and assures results meet design requirements.
• Develops work plans, coordinate material take-offs and requisitions, perform and document inspections, report progress, and resolve conflicts in design and construction related to the installation and testing of civil commodities.
• Performs Civil Field Engineering activities including inspections, audits and planning to support the installation of formwork, rebar, concrete, structural steel, architectural, earthwork and performs rigging support and planning activities for material and equipment.
