Pay: $18–$20 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
About the Role
The Learning Experience – Tuckahoe is hiring a compassionate and dependable Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to support our daycare and preschool classrooms. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with young children and wants to grow within a supportive early education environment.
Our school emphasizes play-based learning, positive relationships, and teamwork to help children feel confident, curious, and cared for every day.
What You’ll Do
- Assist Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and transitions
- Support children through play, learning centers, and structured routines
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
- Participate in snack/mealtime, diapering or toileting, and rest periods as needed
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Follow center procedures and New York childcare licensing requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience with children in a daycare, preschool, camp, or similar setting preferred
- Interest in early childhood education (ECE coursework a plus)
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, patient, and team-oriented
