About the role
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Implements, applies, and follows approved protocols and standing orders.
- Follows and applies all approved workflows.
- Document accurately in the patient’s electronic medical record all services rendered consistent with Boice-Willis Clinic’s policies and procedures.
- Obtain and document vitals (Blood pressure, height/weight, pulse, oxygen saturations, respirations and temperature (if needed)).
- Prep patient for any exams that will take place during appointment.
- Assist with referral facilitation including for specialty care, imaging, or laboratory studies.
- Fulfill all medication reconciliation, education, prior authorizations, and refills as needed.
- Reply 24 – 48 business hours to all patient calls or web encounters to include communications regarding results, new medication instructions, etc.
- If certification or license allows, administers and documents the administration of medications, vaccines, and therapeutic injections - documentation in multiple systems may be required.
- Maintains supply, medication, and sample inventories per Boice-Willis Clinic policies.
- Comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, Compliance, and IT standards and policies.
- Supports Quality Initiatives (ACO, Meaningful Use, PCMH, and PQRS) by data collection and compliance of respected programs.
- Job specific tasks for each area within the Clinic will vary according to specialty of provider.
- Travel between offices may be needed if warranted.
- Complete and submit 12 hours of continuing education credits to the Director of Clinical Services by May 31st of each year if employees credentialing body does not have in place
- Other duties as assigned by administration and/or providers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Excellent computer skills – Microsoft word, excel, and email.
- Electronic medical record documentation preferred.
- Data collecting and entering skills will be essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical terms and pharmacology.
- Preferred knowledge of standard office procedures.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Professional image in attitude and appearance. Maintain a professional, clean, and neat appearance.
Education & Experience:
- Current CPR certification and show proof of renewal.
- ACLS and PALS may be required with certain departments – Obtain and maintain all other certifications as needed per departmental needs.
- Nurse Aide I and II, EMT, Med Tech, or any other entry level certification encouraged to apply.
- MA/RMA encouraged to apply.
