LOCATION/HOURS
This position will require maintaining a flexible hybrid schedule (in office, on event sites, and remote). All candidates must be within commutable distance of SEO’s offices at 55 Exchange Place, New York, NY 10005, upon hire.
Work Schedule: 12.5 per week
The Event Support Assistant will be expected to work in office and to staff program events as required, with understanding that government and public health guidelines will help determine the extent to which it is safe to carry out in-person and onsite activities.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Event Support Assistant provides event support to the College Scholars department operational functions. The role will provide primary support with in person and virtual events, communications and logistics. This role will also be assigned other tasks and projects as needed.
- Assist the operations team with summer programming events such as summer workshops for incoming first year students, celebratory events and career focused events
- Help with event logistics such as ordering and organizing event materials, printing needs, raffle ordering, creating swag bags and other ad hoc tasks
- Assist in the creation of communication plans for students through email, social media and text in order to promote to scholars and increase event participation
- Helping set up and dismantle in person events efficiently through to completion
- Aid in the execution of two virtual summer events in providing zoom tech assistance
- Edit and transcribe student scholarship letters and quotes
- Research counseling resources for college students within the program
- Create and update an inhouse college academic calendar to help advisors keep track of important dates at their respective students' colleges
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience supporting event planning and execution
- Experience maintaining accurate records and tracking projects with multiple tasks and phases
- Highly detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks while able to meet competing deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal (Zoom and in-person)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive, familiarity with Salesforce a plus
