Title: Solution Analyst, Duke Cancer Center
Position Description,
Occupational Summary
Serve as a solution analyst within DCI Solution Lifecycle Management team working with both leaders and end users to characterize requirements and ensuring the successfully delivery of solutions to meet those needs.
Work Preformed
Solution Management – 70% Effort
- Conduct business requirement sessions with client and client business process managers to document functional, non-functional and technical requirements.
- Analyze and map relevant business processes and IT infrastructure
- Research any rules that might impact solution delivery such as compliance, data governance, or organizational mandates
- Make recommendations for solutions that deliver organizational goals
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of solutions
- Recommend business process change/renewal where needed to match best practices or simplify the complexity of a system deliverable
- Serves as a translator of, and advocate for, customer requirements.
- Create business process flowcharts and related documentation to support process development, system enhancements, and implementation of recommendations.
Communication – 20% Effort
- Clearly convey, orally and in writing, technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Communicate concerns clearly in a professional manner. Refer complex questions and escalate issues to others as appropriate.
- Respond timely to emails, phone calls and questions, generally within one to two business days.
- Update stakeholders regularly on the status of work requests.
- Be proactive and actively participate in team meetings, committees, task forces and ad hoc groups.
- Consult with users, support analysts and vendors to efficiently address issues.
Training – 10% Effort
- Stay current on tools and technologies, databases, and operating systems
- Seek and take advantage of opportunities to expand knowledge of data tools and technologies used by institutions similar to Duke Health
- Demonstrate a willingness to accept new or additional responsibility
Know and follow policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulations and protocol requirements that govern clinical research. Maintain Duke and project specific training and certification requirements.
