Graduate January Term 2026

1.5 CU, Hybrid Modality

Class meets in-person on Saturdays, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24 from 8:00am - 12:15pm 

 

Class meets online Tuesday evenings, 1/13 - 1/20 from 6pm - 9pm

Location: Moraga, CA

This course focuses on the applications of analytics in finance and related fields through econometric analysis and financial modeling. Concepts of financial analytics will be introduced via exercises such as: Creating a portfolio and evaluate its performance; Estimating asset pricing models using econometric techniques; Understanding and applying portfolio optimization methods; and Explore the fundamentals of options markets, and options trading. Topics will include the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), Markowitz efficient frontier, binomial trees and the Black-Scholes option pricing model.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Master's or Ph.D. preferred in a relevant area of finance discipline.

Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the graduate level and experience/familiarity with online/hybrid instruction in order to prepare for contingencies. This position requires all course related work to be performed in the state of California. 

The estimated hiring salary range for this position is $3,240 - $5,154 dependent on qualifications and hiring step. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
