Summary of Position
This position is responsible for managing project teams to successful completion of all project deliverables, related documents and coordination of project requirements. Assist with designs, conduct calculations, draft documents and complete cost estimates in accordance with industry and CCI Inc.’s codes and standards. The Senior department lead will assist department managers & VP’s with overarching department functions including: multi-discipline team coordination and management; development of team resources, process’, and tools; business development, project development, and proposals; and other duties required for the successful execution of company services.

Projects may range from small scale integrity upgrades to trenchless installations, to full scope pipeline and facility designs and construction management support. This is a senior level position, and the incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Pipeline & Facilities Manager (CCI Inc. – CAN), and VP Engineering/GM (CCI&A - USA).

Accountabilities
• Manage department resources, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, monitoring performance and evaluating department employees, subcontractors, and 3rd Party Service Providers.
• Motivate staff and provide mentorship/guidance to junior employees.
• Communicate job expectations to the department staff, provide training as required.
• Manage project budgets, forecast budgetary requirements, and monitor performance of project portfolios.
• Ensure the successful execution of project deliverables and maintain overall quality & productivity of the departments work.
• Support strategic long and short-term departmental goals and outcomes.
• Assist with improving CCI Quality Procedures and ensure adherence to these processes.
• Participate in CCI Business Development initiatives and bi-weekly meetings. Actively work to advance CCI’s brand, and new & continued business streams.
• Assist with business development proposals and studies as required, including occasional presentations or attendance at industry conferences.
• Maintain consistent involvement with P&F Management and VP of Engineering to ensure overall coverage of department operations is enacted.
• Maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, staff and other employees.
• Assist with the completion of various project deliverables (DBM’s, cost estimates, project schedules, engineered drawings, specifications and datasheets, evaluation of construction feasibility, route evaluation and selection, process design, pipeline systems optimization)
• Quality control and checking.
• Technical coordination with various disciplines, both internal and external.
• Occasional travel to site for project meetings, site visits, and kick-offs, as needed.
• Coordinate department resources as needed. Including 3rd Party Subcontractors and Vendors where applicable.


Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an Accredited University (Civil, Mechanical or Geotechnical preferred)
• Registered as Professional Engineer with APEGA (additional PE licencing considered an asset)
• Knowledge in piping codes (CSA, ASME, PRCI, API)
• Knowledge in design of gas and liquids pipeline & facility systems
• Experience in managing mid to large size projects
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• An excellent communicator and team player, able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a positive attitude
• Detail-oriented, meticulous, and have strong organizational skills
• Dependable, Accountable, and Adaptable.
