*Previous Flight Experience Required*
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Utilizes the nursing process for the delivery and management of patient’s care from admission to discharge, appropriate to the developmental age and cultural diversity of the patient population.
2. Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to nursing standards.
3. Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.
4. Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluates nursing care within assigned clinical setting.
5. Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.
6. Documents patient care according to nursing standards.
7. Develops, implements/coordinates and documents educational plan for patient/family and significant other.
8. Ensures continuity of care through collaboration with other health care providers.
9. Complies with legal and ethical aspects of patient care.
10. Assumes responsibility for professional growth including assuming resource and preceptor role when appropriate and serving as a role model in an area of specialty.
11. Maintains a safe environment.
12. Administers medications, performs treatments/therapies and operates equipment according to policy and procedure. Assists physician with treatment and procedures and special tests as required or directed.
13. Participates in and supports Nursing Governance activities.
14. Complies with UMMMC Infection Control Policy.
15. Provides end of life care.
16. Differentiates and manages care of patient with acute and chronic pain.
17. Demonstrates a commitment to promote a positive work environment through positive work relations and effective communication on a multi-disciplinary level in various hospital and non-hospital settings.
