The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.
OVERAGE POSITION
This position is an overage. Funding for this position will be re-evaluated on a fiscal year basis.

JOB SUMMARY
This position is located in the Office of Management and Budget Division of the Finance Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the supervision of the Budget Director. The Deputy Budget Director is primarily responsible for managing administrative functions and assisting in the overall management and coordination of activities of the work unit. Essential job functions include: leadership and oversight of various programs and processes within the Office of Management and Budget such as performance management processes, operating budget processes, revenue budget processes and/or capital budget processes. Other duties and responsibilities include representing the director on various boards, committees, and in meetings; analyzing and implementing various departmental productivity improvement measures; researching, preparing and presenting reports for the City Council; determining long-range organization, fiscal and community impact of proposed budgetary changes and decisions; supporting the City’s debt management program; and providing the director with an objective analysis of current legislation impacting departmental activities and/or the City organization. The Deputy Budget Director has regular contact with department or division heads to explain and interpret budgetary, performance and management policies and procedures; and to provide technical assistance pertaining to budget preparation, organization and/or modification. Work products are reviewed for accuracy, compliance with regulations and soundness of technical judgment.
