Physical Therapist Assistant (Ortho)

Under general supervision, provides treatment under the functional supervision of a Physical Therapist, following focused treatment plans based on established goals. Instructs patients in physical therapy activities and in the use of equipment.

• Executes plans of care as established by supervising Physical Therapist.
•  This may include, but is not limited to, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, modalities prn, neuromuscular rehabilitation, sport specific training. 
• Monitors patient's response to treatment and modifies treatment based on specific needs and medical status. Reports patient concerns and/or responses to the Physical Therapist, as appropriate. 
• Completes patient care and billing documentation and secures sign off by Physical Therapist.
•  Serves as a liaison between physical therapist and patients. 
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of coding procedures. 
• Knowledge of physical therapy principles, practices and processes. 
• Proficiency with MS Office and Electronic Medical Record. Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
