Are you a skilled problem-solver with a passion for technical support and customer service? We’re looking for a Field Service Technician to join our SNIF team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced work environment while delivering top-tier technical and sales support to our customers.

What You’ll Do:

✅ Provide technical and sales support to customers.
✅ Evaluate customer claims for warranty disposition.
✅ Schedule and coordinate customer visits and project work to optimize travel efficiency.
✅ Assist Engineering and Manufacturing teams with design recommendations and new equipment inspections.

✔️ Resides within two hours of a major airport in the Northeast (Boston, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Albany, Buffalo, Binghamton, Cortland area), the South (Atlanta, Raleigh, larger cities in the Carolinas), or the Midwest (major metro areas with airport access).

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to customer and vendor inquiries, assess urgency, and provide clear resolutions.

• Provide remote and onsite technical support, including system commissioning, training, troubleshooting, and repair supervision.

• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and drawings accurately.

• Inspect and test machinery to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Verify part dimensions for conformance to specifications.

• Prepare detailed procedures and operational recommendations.

• Investigate warranty claims and determine failure causes.

• Provide detailed reports on technical issues, maintenance needs, and resolutions.

• Identify cost-saving and efficiency improvement opportunities.

• Support continuous improvement in design, manufacturing, and customer service.

• Train end-users on equipment installation, operation, and maintenance.

• Assist the Global Sales Team with troubleshooting and repair recommendations.

• Maintain compliance with ISO quality standards and participate in process improvements.

• Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Pyrotek equipment as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

• A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on Mechanical or Electrical experience with manufacturing equipment, ideally in the aluminum or primary metals industry.
• Experience working with industrial fuel fired equipment/engineered systems preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on mechanical or electrical experience with manufacturing equipment, preferably in the aluminum or primary metals industry. Experience with industrial fuel-fired equipment is a plus.

• Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and repair abilities, knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and precision technical drawings.

• People & Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and build trust with diverse teams. Strong written and verbal communication.

• Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and CAD software.

• Business Skills: Strong judgment, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage confidential information.

• Travel Requirements: Up to 80% domestic and international travel. Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license and U.S. passport.
