About the role

Medicare Sales Agent- Hybrid Trainer

Position Overview:

At Bloom, we are dedicated to transforming the insurance industry through innovation and excellence. We are looking for a high‑performing individual who is passionate about developing others and delivering strong training experiences.

As a Hybrid Trainer, you will hold a dual-status role. Your primary role will be serving as a licensed insurance agent during non‑training periods. When training needs arise—during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) and at various times throughout the year—you will transition into a certified trainer capacity to support new and existing agents.

Hybrid status reflects a commitment to excel in both roles. To remain eligible, individuals must consistently meet performance, quality, compliance, and skill expectations as both an agent and a trainer. Once selected for the Hybrid Trainer role, you are part of the team, and Bloom may move you between agent and trainer responsibilities as business needs require.

We are looking for an exceptional individual who can:

As an Agent (non‑training periods)

Hybrid Trainers are expected to perform all duties outlined in the Licensed Agent Job Description. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Staying current on product updates, carrier changes, compliance rules, and internal policies
  • Completing ongoing selfstudy of training materials, curriculum changes, and updates in preparation for AEP

For full details, refer to the Licensed Agent Job Description.

As a Trainer (AEP preparation and delivery)

  • Deliver new hire classes for Medicare Sales and other assigned programs
  • Execute certified curriculum, including BeReady, CARE, and any newly assigned training modules
  • Assess learner progress, provide timely feedback, and escalate performance or behavioral concerns to the Training Manager
  • Maintain accurate class records, attendance logs, training documentation, and required reporting
  • Collaborate with the Training Team to refine materials and share floor insights that improve curriculum and agent readiness
  • Mentor new seasonal trainers as requested
  • Support learners both in and out of the classroom, including via floor support and live‑call guidance when deployed
  • Perform other training‑related duties as assigned

Hybrid Trainer Responsibilities (applies across both roles)

  • Train with clarity and confidence by breaking down complex Medicare or Marketplace concepts into simple, actionable instruction
  • Meet expectations consistently in both roles — production goals as an agent and benchmarks as a trainer
  • Show up when it matters — returning each AEP and supporting training as business needs arise throughout the year
  • Lead with integrity by modeling professionalism, compliance, and the performance standards expected of Bloom agents
  • Coach agents for success by offering feedback, guidance, and support that builds confidence, accuracy, and performance
  • Serve as a resource outside the classroom — answer questions, reinforce best practices, and provide on‑the‑floor support
  • Create an engaging, respectful learning environment that supports participation, encourages questions, and promotes growth
  • Use sound judgment and escalate concerns to leadership when agent performance, conduct, or training quality requires intervention
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Bloom’s training and agent performance objectives

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of training experience within Bloom
  • Quality Assurance (QA) score of 92% or higher — sustained, not a one-time achievement
  • Meets or exceeds individual sales goals
  • Strong standing in current role — no active performance improvement plans or attendance issues
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex insurance concepts clearly to adult learners
  • Commitment to return to Training as business needs dictate
