Solar Specialist
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Job type: Full time
Schedule: Standard Daytime hours, Monday-Friday
Base Salary: $80,000 - $110,000
*The exact amount of base wage may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role as well as the geographic location of the role.

We’re seeking a Solar Specialist to lead our growth in the solar market. This role is perfect for someone passionate about renewable energy and skilled in sales strategy, product expertise, and relationship building.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and secure solar opportunities, including modules, BOS, and peripheral equipment.
- Serve as the go-to product expert for solar equipment.
- Collaborate with materials and operations teams on inventory strategies.
- Build strong partnerships with manufacturers and reps to become their preferred channel partner.
- Represent Viking Electric at Sonepar Solar/Renewable Energy events and align with broader initiatives.
- Develop training materials to help our sales team identify solar opportunities.
- Perform all duties professionally and ethically in line with company policies.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience:
- 1–2 years in sales and/or analysis.
- Previous experience in solar or renewable energy.
- Education:
- High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong sales aptitude and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to analyze data and maintain attention to detail.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
