Job Summary
Schedule:24-hours per week, day shift; schedule includes on-call rotation (weekday/weekend)
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Registered Nurse directs and coordinates all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.
The Operating Room Registered Nurse performs the role of Circulating Nurse while functioning as a patient advocate for the anesthetized patient. The OR RN is responsible for providing safe and effective care to the surgical patient while meeting their physiologic and functional needs.
This position is part of the Massachusetts Nurses Association Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
This position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Other Certificate/Diploma Nursing required or
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials
- Registered Nurse [RN - Massachusetts] - required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position
- PALS or ENPC required within 3 months of hire or transfer into position
Experience
- Minimum of one year Operating Room experience or completion of Periop 101 program required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills required.
