The Opportunity
At EXPLO, we are fortunate to have a 24/7 health office available to our students and staff which is staffed by a team of skilled nurses. The Health Office Assistant works closely with the Director of the Health Office to ensure that the office runs smoothly and that students and staff are readily able to access the care that they need. The Health Office Assistant also plays a role in building community on campus as a consistent friendly face in our Health Office, as well as supporting general student programming.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Health Office Assistant Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director of the Health Office to ensure that the Health Office offers consistent care to students and staff
- Work closely with the Office of Student Life to exchange necessary information about student health issues and communications with caregivers
- Work closely with all Summer Program offices to ensure that medications are properly administered to all students
- Work closely with all Summer Program offices to ensure that medications are properly packed for off-campus student field trips
- Coordinate with other Health Office staff and local healthcare providers to ensure our Health Office is fully stocked with appropriate supplies and medications
- Take students to scheduled and urgent appointments as needed
Campus Operations + Student Life
- Lead and support group activities for students, which may range from extracurricular activities to supervising an evening event
- Chaperone students on evening and weekend trips off-campus
- Possibly teach an elective of interest and/or be the first person to step in to cover a course or living group if needed.
About You
You’ve got:
- Availability to work on campus for the duration of the summer program
- A valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
Ideally, you’ve also got:
- 1+ years of post-high school experience by the summer
- Some experience with kids and/or adolescents
Compensation + Benefits
This is a seven week, seasonal position that begins in mid- June 2023. Compensation for this role starts at $4,500 plus room and board. For the health and safety of our community, EXPLO requires all employees and new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
