Are you a payroll pro with a passion for accuracy, compliance, and building seamless processes? We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations and ensure our team is supported with flawless payroll management. Pay range $29.66 - $37.08 per hour

Job Description:

What We're Looking For:

  • Three years of direct experience in electronic payroll processing in a medium to large organization

  • Strong knowledge of federal and California payroll laws and regulations.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to navigate HRIS system, Workday experience is a plus

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and payroll compliance requirements.

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to resolve payroll issues independently

  • You have an eye for detail and are familiar with balancing/reconciliations 

  • Self-motivated and able to work within deadlines independently, with a team-oriented approach

  • Ready to tackle new projects/systems with a positive attitude 

  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred 

What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Lead and support the Payroll team by providing clear guidance on payroll policies, fostering collaboration, and ensuring effective communication across all levels.

  • Deliver excellent customer service by communicating clearly, respectfully, and supportively with a diverse population of employees and colleagues. 

  • Oversee and process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring timely and accurate execution.

  • Prepare and provide payroll reports and data to HR, Accounting, and other internal/external stakeholders to support compliance, audit requests, and operational decision-making.

  • Act as liaison with third-party vendors to ensure tax liability accounts are reconciled and processed within established deadlines

  • Develop expertise in the Workday payroll system, actively participating in system updates and enhancements that impact payroll functionality.

  • Completes quarterly and calendar year-end processing of payroll and coordinating with outside vendors for W2 distribution

  • Manages taxable benefits for employees, ensuring accurate payroll records and compliance with applicable regulations
