About the role

TASMAP is the Tasmanian Government's base mapping service renowned for producing high quality cartographic products including a wide range of topographic, recreation and tourist maps.

As a Senior Spatial Information Officer, you will deal with the full range of LIST datasets and access a diverse range of software from GIS to graphic arts to produce digital and hardcopy maps.

You’ll harness your curiosity and drive innovation developing projects from inception to completion and implementation, while working in close association with the data mangers, maintenance, and client services areas.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Desirable requirements

  • An Advanced/Associate Diploma in Applied Science, or equivalent level, in a Spatial Sciences related discipline, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider. Or extensive demonstrated experience, eight years or more, working directly in the field of Mapping and GIS providing high quality outputs.
  • A current motor vehicle driver’s licence.
