Seasonal Lifeguard-The Vineyard Apartments

Description

We are looking for certified lifeguards to join our team at The Vineyards Apartments, located at Butler Hill and I-55.  The pool hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm (closed on Mondays and during times of inclement weather) from May 24 through September 1.  We offer somewhat of a flexible schedule, ideally with shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours each day, staffing two lifeguards or a lifeguard and a pool attendant to be present during the pool hours each day.

Core responsibilities are:

Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours

Closely monitor activities, identifying any safety issues; ensure pool rules and guidelines are being followed

Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions

Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe

Maintain a clean pool environment:

• Folds and stores chairs and umbrellas at sundown.
• Picks up rubbish in the pool area.
• May assist with draining, cleaning, and refilling the pool and changing pool filters.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Must be lifeguard certified

General first aid a plus

One to three years of experience in a lifeguard position and/or pool maintenance is a plus

Language Skills  

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents and other employees of the organization.
