Commercial Agronomist

Trace Genomics has developed the first analytics engine that learns as it maps the living soil. Trace has pioneered the use of hi-definition genomics to decode and catalog the complete soil environment, delivering targeted database insights and actions at cost-speed-scale-accuracy for partners who are advancing modern farming solutions. 
Job Purpose:●      Ensure that the value of our data is understood, results delivered are actionable, and the customer’s actions, the value added, and ROI (where applicable) are documented every season for both the grower and the retail-agronomist.●      Build genuine, long-lasting relationships with Trace Genomics' customers.●      Help Trace’s customers be successful, both with our product offerings, and in their own business operations using a proactive, data-led approach.●      Grow sales with existing customer accounts through interpretation of data into recommendations and ROI for customers.●      Provide thoughtful feedback and insights to the Trace team to be used in guiding our roadmaps for R&D, Product, Lab Operations and Commercial (in line with Trace’s business goals).●      Provide agronomic credibility and build trust with customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:●      Train and educate as needed (for larger retail-agronomy customers) on the use of Trace’s offerings for both technical and non-technical customers in a way that transforms complex data into actionable agronomic recommendations.●      Serve as the agronomy specialist for turning Trace Genomics’ cutting-edge product solutions into agronomic actions and recommendations, becoming the customers’ primary point of contact for results interpretation and actionability after results are delivered to the customer.●      Ensure that customers are growing business with us year-over-year.●      Build trust and confidence with our retailer and grower customers to ensure genuine, long-lasting partnerships.●      Collaborate with Trace’s customer support function to help customers with setting realistic value added goals, and track progress over time to drive towards successful outcomes. This includes:○      Creating project timelines, scope requirements, and set expectations to keep all ROI documentation projects on track and ensuring on-time delivery of results interpretation and ROI demonstration for large and important customer accounts.○      Coordinating and executing documentation of $ spent, actions taken, yield/ profitability/revenue $ and other data collection as needed to demonstrate ROI to customers (both growers and retail-agronomists).●      Collaborate with marketing to highlight successful customers by writing or assisting with blog posts, case studies, and success stories.●      Collaborate with Trace Genomics' product, R&D, and sales teams to advocate for and help prioritize product enhancements based on customer feedback, in line with Trace’s business goals.●      Coordinate and communicate effectively with both customers and our dynamic, interdisciplinary team.●      Travel 25-35% of the time.
Qualifications:●      Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or related field; plus 5+ years related experience and Masters degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Plant Nutrition preferred plus 3+ years related experience or training.●      PCA or CCA preferred.●      Personal farming experience preferred.●      Demonstrated success working in an Agricultural Product company.●      Strong understanding of plant nutrition & soil fertility.●      Excellent technical aptitude, including ability to synthesize and statistically interpret agronomic data and design effective experiments.●      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
