Senior Director, Medical Group Operations - Full Time - Days

Job Summary
The Senior Director has oversight for Medical Group budgeting, staffing and resource allocation, project planning and oversight, process improvement, and compliance. He/she advises the Vice President on strategic, business planning, and development for assigned services. The SD develops and maintains strong relationships with facilities, human resources, information technology (IT), and other departments to ensure adequate support for providers and staff. He/she serves as a liaison between providers and administrative staff, and assists in maintaining open, supportive, and collaborative relationships with employed physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Collaborates with the Vice President on Medical Group administrative functions including finance, physician recruitment, and quality.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Recommend, develop and implement improvements to Medical Group services, strategy and goals.
- Develop, monitor and administer revenue generating activities, increasing volume, clinical programs and/or business development achieving positive bottom line results.
- Create, monitor, and progress service line metrics. Analyze quality, financial, and other data to objectively measure the performance of Medical Group services.
- Develop and refine business plans for new physicians and service line expansion. Lead Medical Group acquisitions, consolidations and projects.
- Establish monitor and reallocate budgets and capital planning activities.
- Implement and maintain an organizational structure which promotes high performance amongst operations staff.
- Serve as mentor and provide leadership and direction to Medical Group management.
- Deliver operational improvements for efficiency and cost-containment.
- Promote and develop collaborative relationships between providers and staff.
- Accountable for the resolution of patient complaints.
- In partnership with leadership and Human Resources, makes decisions or recommendations related to performance management, hiring, transfers, corrective actions, terminations, etc. Resolves staff issues and grievances in a fair, timely and consistent manner, also in partnership with HR.
- Take action to promote MVHS services and community education. Serve as liaison with outside organizations in operational matters including public relations and marketing, community support, and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure Medical Group services comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Ensure compliance of grants for assigned areas.
- Create integration between primary care operations and specialty services ensuring that downstream service lines are being utilized effectively.
- Ensure the coordination between Medical Group offices and other modalities (lab, imaging etc.) is efficient and seamless.
- Synergize referrals and clinical coordination within all MVHS owned and affiliated practices.
- Optimize processes within service lines and roll out new initiatives to medical group operational management.
- Perform related duties as directed.
Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business or a related field. required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in health care leadership.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in healthcare.
- Demonstrated success in health care system process and quality improvement.
PREFERRED:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- ACHE Fellowship or Fellowship-Eligibility
- Experience in multi-specialty medical group operations
