This position will be located in Casper, WY at our JW Williams facility (a company of Westerman, Inc).
This position requires employees to be on-site and work in the shop / yard. Successful candidates will be required to live in Casper or within a reasonable commuting distance. Westerman, Inc. does not offer a relocation package, and all relocation expenses will be the candidate’s responsibility
SUMMARY
Westerman, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely transport materials using multiple pieces of equipment (Frontend loaders, Skid Steers, and Large Capacity Forklifts) throughout the yard and shops in the most productive and safe manner. Will be responsible for equipment, securing loads, and maintaining a safe working environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.
- Safely operate heavy equipment up to 36,000lbs of capacity and participate as a spotter for other operators.
- Inventory and regularly inspect rigging equipment for handling equipment (Straps, Slings, etc).
- Perform thorough daily pre-trip inspections and report any concerns to management and maintenance dept.
- Safely load & unload multiple types of freight trucks (Flatbed, Enclosed trailer, Stepdeck, Low-Boys, Pickups, etc).
- Supply shops with any requested materials.
- Actively participate to identify areas of opportunity and barriers for effective performance.
- Participate in reconciliation activities to support the warehouse weekly cycle counting process.
- Adhere to Company’s policies & processes, including Supply Chain processes.
- Work with the warehouse, shops, and other equipment operators to maintain yard cleanliness.
- Work with Shipping Clerk to help plan for upcoming shipments and ensure accuracy when loading.
- Support other equipment operators & departments with extreme workloads.
- Communicate needs and statuses with Warehouse team.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Must have and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable MVR as determined by the insurance carrier and the Company’s Vehicle Use Policy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with heavy equipment operation or heavy forklift operation.
- Ability to be outside in a variety of extreme weather conditions.
