The Opportunity

The Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) Asset Program Manager is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of the global IT asset management program at Black & Veatch. This role involves developing strategic plans to advance the maturation of the D&IT Asset Management function and leading its transformation. The position requires an in-depth understanding of ITAM automation capabilities, lifecycle management, software license models, and IT Asset Management (ITAM) best practices to monitor and support compliance with software standards, licenses, terms and conditions, and optimization for all locations globally. 

The Team

Black & Veatch’s Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the IT Asset Management program aligns with stakeholders' requirements, enterprise values, and D&IT objectives. 
  • Maintain accurate and current inventories of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and cloud assets. This includes both internally and externally hosted assets. 
  • Enhance data to increase IT spend transparency, asset utilization, and optimize major contracts. 
  • Develop and institutionalize a program to standardize software across the organization for consistency and compliance. 
  • Maintain a single data repository for efficient asset lifecycle management and formalize a methodology for easy and accurate data retrieval. 
  • Identify abandoned or out-of-spec IT assets, support controls development, and assist security incident teams with IT asset data. 
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to advance the ITAM function, aligning with business priorities and technology changes. 
  • Analyze existing ITAM practices, recommend improvements, and update documentation as needed. 
  • Leverage tools to automate asset information collection and simplify processes. 
  • Develop automated software reporting for self-service consumption and assist in understanding licensing models. 
  • Lead development and implementation of reclamation procedures. 
  • Gather and analyze software usage trend data to determine maintenance/support requirements and coordinate acquisition/renewal strategies. 
  • Lead external software audit activities, including readiness assessment, vendor coordination, data analysis, remediation, settlement negotiation, and communication. 
  • Lead optimization of the end-user software catalog to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy

Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.
