Work Experience Description:

Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses.

Locations: C-Store - Hale 3, BYU–Hawaii Store – the Marketplace, Mini Mart - Hale 1

 

Position Summary
The Cashier will support the daily operations of BYUH retail locations by providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and assisting with stocking and inventory management. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work effectively alone and with a team.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional customer service, including assisting with inquiries and purchases
• Operate cash registers and accurately handle cash, card, and other transactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
• Stock shelves, rotate products, and assist with inventory management
• Support teammates and supervisors in carrying out store operations efficiently
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

 

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Cashiering or retail experience preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to regularly lift and carry boxes and merchandise weighing up to 50lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and perform stocking tasks as needed

 

Work Schedule

• Availability for early mornings, late evenings, and Saturdays
• Longer shift availability preferred
