We are looking for a Learning & Development intern to join our team. The goal of a Learning & Development intern at Wisk is to help set up our Learning Management System to be able to track employee skills and abilities which will enable the certification & production of our autonomous air taxis. You will be part of the People Operations team that will be implementing a Learning Management System (LMS) across the enterprise.

Why we need you:

  • With that vision in mind, we are looking for a Learning & Development intern to join our People Operations team. The goal of the Learning & Development intern at Wisk is to help set up our Learning Management System to be able to track employee skills and abilities which will enable the certification & production of our autonomous air taxis.
  • The successful candidate will partner with business leaders across the organization to identify technical and soft skills needed by role and level and build said matrices in the new LMS system. Interns with Industrial Engineering or Industrial or Organizational Psychology advanced studies would find this work a great showcase to bring their learned skills to life in a thriving organization. In this role, the candidate must have strong organizational and technology skills, self-direction to advance a project, comfort talking with business leaders about how skills drive performance, and a willingness to jump into a project and make a huge impact! 

What you will do:

  • Roll up your sleeves and learn the functionality of our new LMS
  • Establish a global template that will help department leads flesh out the skills needed for all job roles and levels
  • You’ll have to be willing to ask tough questions to discover what might have been missed
  • You’ll become a champion for the levels of skill proficiency and help managers determine what the minimum required skill levels are by role (familiarity with Radford’s Global Job Leveling Model is helpful)
  • You’ll get to use your tech wizardry to build and test the skill matrices in the system.
  • You’ll design the process where employees and managers rate skill levels - and make it an exciting task that all employees complete
  • You’ll get to work with wickedly smart people literally inventing something the world hasn’t yet seen - so you’ve got to be willing to have ideas and a voice to express them
  • All the while, helping the Learning & Development team implement and drive adoption of the Learning Management System.

What you have done:

  • Working toward a BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Psychology, or Organizational Psychology
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Excellent communication skills that both educate and excite others
  • Demonstrated passion for the science behind learning and skill building
  • Learning Management System (LMS) experience is ideal, but shy of that, you’ve got to have great tech-savvy and be willing to learn a software system quickly
  • You have studied or worked on various Learning and Development projects and can speak to the confluence of skills, tech and performance 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines with quick turnaround

Desired:

  • You are familiar with operating systems (Windows and MacOs), Office suites (specifically the Google Suite), Presentation software (PowerPoint), Spreadsheets (Excel, Google Spreadsheet etc.)
  • Start up experience
  • Aviation industry experience
  • Experience in implementing software systems
  • Education/teaching degree or certification
