SUMMARY
Consultants
are responsible for providing one-on-one or group consulting in a supportive
environment to students in all disciplines, in order to engage and empower them
to become more competent academic and professional writers.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
- Consultants are responsible for providing one-on-one or group consulting in a supportive environment to students in all disciplines, in order to engage and empower them to become more competent academic and professional writers
- Teaching in a one-on-one setting is integral to the position, although there is no requirement for teaching beyond the duties of the Writing Center
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university (English degrees preferred)
- Demonstrated writing consultation experience in a tutorial or instructional setting
- Experience working with community college students
KNOWLEDGE,

- Possess working knowledge of writing concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to apply to varied situations

Set-Rate Non-Bargaining Part-Time Position: This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $20.91/ hour.
