Function/Duties of Position
We are seeking a full-time Intervention Supervisor to fulfill multiple responsibilities across several research projects in an exercise oncology laboratory and particularly with two clinical trials of exercise in cancer survivors. The Intervention Supervisor will work directly with the PI, lab manager, and other project directors to manage the exercise interventions and supervise and train the exercise instructors. This person will perform a variety of duties essential to the conduct of the exercise interventions including: intervention design and implementation, purchasing exercise supplies, hiring, training and oversight of exercise instructors, regular communication with study participants, oversight and reporting of retention and adherence to study interventions across all trials, maintaining the scientific quality, consistency of exercise delivery and exercise safety across all study classes. We expect the Intervention Supervisor to work with the team to identify and resolve research issues, develop research ideas, and disseminate results. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills both within a team environment and with participants; has strong organizational skills; and can demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the integrity and quality of data collection in a research environment. Must be able to work and lead independently, including maintaining oversight of study intervention timelines, benchmarks, milestones, and deliverables. A positive, solution-oriented mindset is required! The person hired must be CPR/First Aid certified or be willing to obtain this prior to the position's start date. This is a grant funded position for up to one year but may be extended depending on project needs and funding.

Intervention design and implementation: Help to design exercise interventions and create exercise intervention protocols for each research trial, oversee implementation of exercise protocol
Purchase exercise supplies: Assist in finding and purchasing of exercise equipment to use in exercise classes
Hiring, training, and oversight of exercise instructors: Locate and hire appropriate exercise instructors, assist in getting contracts in place, train instructors on exercise protocol, review invoices, oversee fidelity of exercise instruction
Communication with study participants: Regular communication with participants regarding exercise class they were randomized to, onboarding into exercise class, and exercise modification and individualizations needed during intervention
Oversight and reporting of exercise retention and adherence: Recording of exercise attendance and regular calculation of retention and adherence to ensure a proactive approach at addressing any issues. May have oversight of additional data per study protocols.
Oversee consistency of exercise delivery and safety of exercise classes: Ensuring exercise interventions are following study protocol across all exercise classes, management of AE follow-up among participants and reporting of moderate and serious AEs, oversight of classes to ensure exercise safety
Required Qualifications
Education & experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience OR
- Associate's AND 3 years of relevant experience OR
- 4 years of relevant experience OR
- Equivalent combination of training and experience
- 3 years clinical research experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to attend to details and complete assignments with minimal direction
- Prior experience in human research studies
- Ability to work with PI, lab manager, and other project directors to independently carry
