AFM is looking for an Account Underwriting Intern to join the Los Angeles office. This is an outstanding opportunity to provide underwriting support for a team with multifaceted strengths, helping to maintain and grow a profitable portfolio of business consistent with AFM policies, business strategies, and objectives.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for providing underwriting and production support to the AFM Los Angeles account teams, working closely with internal and external customers.

Key accountabilities are supporting account teams in developing and retaining quality new and renewal business, preparing information for review, and providing excellent and adaptable service that adds new value to our broker and customer relationships.

The ideal candidate will work to develop a basic understanding of our products and services and aid the underwriters in developing and growing a profitable portfolio of business.

An Account Underwriting Intern is a strong teammate who will be working alongside internal customers and other colleagues, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, good judgment and decision-making skills in all areas of accountability.

• Problem-solving skills
• Computer / Technology proficient, with advanced Excel proficiency
• Working toward a degree in business administration, risk management, or insurance with a strong curiosity about this field of work
• Potential ability to establish a network of property producers and industry contacts

The hiring range for this position is $21.00 to $23.00 per hour. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
