Job Description

As the Global Trade Compliance & Customs Officer, working remotely Germany-wide, you:

  • will ensure compliance with import, export, and supply chain regulations and requirements.
  • are responsible for overseeing and executing all daily trade compliance operations, providing guidance/direction to all medmix sales organizations with all matters relating to trade compliance, customs, and transportation.
  • will work on trade compliance programs and customs projects and empower the network of trade compliance colleagues at the country level.
  • will serve as the primary point of contact providing guidance to the business with a focus on third parties screening, classification, as well as export controls and sanctions management. 
  • will support the various segments and functions in ensuring that medmix complies with export control requirements, prevents and resolves potential issues.
  • Manage digital Due Diligence and Screening tools i.e., GAN Integrity and Vantage.
  • Manage, plan and implement strategic and complex projects successfully, including change management.

Qualifications

  • Masters’s degree in Customs, Taxation and International Trade Law, Economics or a related field or comparable experience
  • Several years of trade compliance background in a fast-paced industry operating globally
  • Deep Knowledge of export control and customs rules and regulations is essential.
  • Working knowledge of the applicable import/export regulations including HS, HTS, ECCN classification, product origin, customs valuation, Free Trade Agreements and the US EAR and/or EU Dual-Use regulations or elements hereof
  • Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or related field/equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in regulated industries, in particular life science or medical devices a plus.
  • SAP user experience is a plus.
  • Being analytically minded and detail orientated, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appreciate candidates who hold certifications that align with the role's responsibilities like Export Manager (IHK), Certified US Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO), Customs Specialist, Export Control Specialist CH, or International Export Manager.
  • Fluent in English and German
