Job Description
- As a strategic buyer of raw materials, you will work in project teams for the development and implementation of new purchasing strategies and processes in raw material purchasing.
- You are responsible to perform operational purchasing for the direct demands (Robert Bosch plants) and subcontracted demands, including RFQs, awarding and contract process, support for proper payment to suppliers, risk management in the supply chain, and as purchasing escalation contact for delivery and quality issues.
- You independently assess the market conditions and prepare professional and accurate price forecasts.
- As a senior commodity buyer, you will have responsibility for important suppliers, including taking the lead in professional preparation and conducting of contract negotiations.
- Of course, working toward optimization of procurement costs in cooperation with cross-functional teams is an important task.
- By working in collaborative teams, you will contribute to new IT solutions within Purchasing.
Travel Expectation: Willingness to travel up to 20 - 25% in US and Mexico / 10% overseas
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 4+ years of experience in a direct purchasing roles
- 2+ years of experience with SAP or other ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive industry experience
- Experience purchasing raw materials, including steel, and non-ferrous metals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including making presentations
- Experience negotiating contract agreements with suppliers in difficult situations
- Proven strategic thinking skills and an entrepreneurial mindset
- Analytical and goal oriented with the internal drive to achieve strong and quick results
- Working knowledge of SAP purchasing transactions and processes
