This position is responsible for providing maximum maintenance for the facility with a minimum of downtime due to maintenance problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• Modify, rebuild, repair, or overhaul all types of electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment controls.
• Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications, codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operations and application of acceptable electronic and mechanical procedures.
• Train new personnel.
• Practice and teach effective safety procedures
• Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 

 

• Ability to analyze all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify, replace, or service all types of mechanical and electronic devices and systems, including gauges, controls and regulators, power and distribution control equipment, measuring, recording, processing and indicating devices, etc.
• CERTIFIED journeyman electrician or equivalent experience and mechanical ability preferred.
• Be familiar with the metric system of measurement.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, hands or feet.  The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, twist/turn, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust one’s focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet humid or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, chemicals and extreme heat. 

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to loud depending on work location
