SAP MFG Product Engineering/ PLM Senior Business Analyst (Discrete, MTO, and ETO)

Responsibilities:

• Streamline BOM and Routing Creation
  • Optimize the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Routing processes to enhance manufacturing design and production planning efficiency.
• Integrate Manufacturing Design
  • Ensure seamless integration between Engineering data and SAP B1, aligning with downstream processes for enhanced data coherence and operational efficiency.

Key Tasks:

• Evaluate BOM Creation Processes:
• Analyze and compare the BOM creation processes of two companies. 
• Understand the current production management and manufacturing operational processes.
• Learn best practices from both operations.
• Identify the best fit process that aligns with organizational goals and operational efficiency.
• Design and Develop:
  • Design the ideal operation model.
  • Perform a gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current and ideal processes.
  • Design and develop templates based on the evaluated best fit process.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and deploy the finalized solution.
• Integration:
  • Ensure design and engineering data are integrated with SAP B1.
  • Integrate back shop routing with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
• Engineering/Product Lifecycle Management Vendor Selection 
• Evaluate vendors based on their expertise and past implementation success.
  • Key Assumptions:
    • SAP B1 will be used as the ERP system.
    • A home-grown MES will be utilized.
  • Vendors Being Considered:
    • Infor
    • Autodesk (Inventor)
• Vendor Selection Process:
  • Understand current operational processes.
  • Share best practices, provide solution demonstrations, and document lessons learned.
  • Design the ideal operation and analyze the gaps.
  • Set evaluation criteria and conduct a thorough evaluation of potential solutions.
  • Select the most suitable vendor and solution based on the defined criteria.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Product Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management and Business Analysis.
• Strong understanding of BOM and Routing processes.
• Expertise in integrating engineering data with SAP B1 and managing downstream processes.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written.
