Senior Accountant

We’re looking for someone who is happy handling a range of tasks from bookkeeping to advanced accounting work, such as deferred revenue journal entries.

English fluency is required!

Responsibilities for Senior Accountant

• Responsibility for bookkeeping tasks related to coding transactions

• Complete monthly bank reconciliations

• Prepare supporting documentation for accrual and adjusting journal entries

• Create reports and ad-hoc analyses from QBO and in excel

• Analyze client financial data to produce insights for StartupEdge team members

• Summarize and prepare financial statements and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports

• Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations for clients

• Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties

• Ability and eagerness to contribute to financial analysis, data entry, and other tasks to support our clients

Qualifications for Senior Accountant

• Accounting degree and 5+ years of relevant experience (preferably with U.S.-based companies)

• Expertise in accrual-based accounting

• Experience preparing deferred revenue and prepaid asset schedules

• Nice to have: experience with sales and use tax returns due to the state and local jurisdictions for the company in an accurate and timely fashion

• Required knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Quickbooks Online, and payroll software.

• Prefer experience with other accounting software (eg Xero, Sage, etc)

• Excellent organization skills to maintain client files and workpapers

• Must be fluent in written and spoken English
