Field Safety Specialist - Charlotte, NC

Description

This position is responsible for assisting with development, implementation, training and management of the company's DOT, OSHA, and other Health and Safety compliance programs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure work procedures and policies are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
• Investigate, report, and monitor all accidents.
• Samsara vehicle camera systems and FMCSA ELD compliance.
• Maintain and update safety and AST tank compliance program.
• Facilitate and perform facility & company equipment safety inspections.
• Conduct safety meetings based on need and current issues by location.
• Work with various department heads to ensure work procedures and policies are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
• Provide support to the Safety Department/HR during compliance audits (FMCSA, OSHA, etc.).
• Assist the Safety Department and HR with ensuring Driver DQ files are compliant with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a DOT-specific Safety role required.
• In-depth knowledge of DOT/FMCSA compliance and regulations.
• Travel required as needed - approximately 30%.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
