Air conditioning engineers are responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

·         Reviewing blueprints, installing air conditioning systems, testing systems for proper functioning, performing emergency repairs, maintaining tools, ordering supplies, and making routine adjustments to maximize operational efficiency.    

·         Record data when inspecting systems, such as temperature of equipment, fuel consumption and hours of operation.       

·         Must recover and properly dispose of refrigerants when servicing air conditioning equipment since refrigerants can be harmful to the environment.

 

 

Education:
HS/GED required, Trade School/Community College.

 

Experience:
Apprenticeship or on-the-job training experience.

 

Licenses/Certification:

Must be able to obtain Certificate of Fitness A-35, S-12. S-14, G-71, G-79, P-98 or equivalents within 30 days of appointment if required by Facilities Management. Additional Certifications as determined by Facilities Management.
