About the role
The Senior Producer on BarkleyFilms is a versatile, multi-talented producer able to effortlessly contribute to the elevation of the work and lead production jobs that fall within Barkley Films purview including new biz pitches, case studies, and consumer facing work. The Sr. Producer effectively leads every aspect of production to create content across all media platforms - including broadcast TV commercials, digital, social or other non-broadcast content with a particular day to day focus on working with the Barkley Films team of ‘makers’ such as directors, DP’s, editors and motion designers. The position requires someone who can manage a significant volume of their own jobs across a scale of level of effort while also managing producers who report into this role. The ideal candidate has a very detailed line item understanding of how technical production works and also possesses the ability to successfully interact with creatives, brand teams, and clients to ensure production planning and objectives are being met. The Sr. Producer partners with the Executive Producer and Creative Lead of Barkley Films to set forth and adhere to best practices of high quality production work.
Responsibilities:
- Has a solid understanding of production processes and is able to provide innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Manages the day to day production workflow of the Sr. Producer assignments at different stages of the production process.
- Ability and passion to train and mentor producers and/or direct reports with best practices while allowing them to grow.
- On-going assessment of incoming opportunities and collaboration with RM & BF creative lead to assign resources
- Works closely with EP/Director of Production, Creative and Account Teams to determine the best possible approach to bring creativity to life.
- Engages early and often in the development of creativity to provide ongoing feedback and input. Weighs in on feasibility while continually assessing how best to leverage the creative opportunity.
- Supports, protects, and advances the idea, ensuring the best possible execution of the creative at every step speaking the language of production.
- Develops a road map for production, laying out optimal timing and milestones with Project Management, Account Teams & Resource Management
- Coordinates and supervises production partners throughout the process.
- Develops comprehensive estimates and timelines with a thorough understanding of all moving parts. Closely manages the project budget to keep costs in line.
- Be seen as an advocate for progress in our DEI&B goals within the walls of Barkley and the talent we hire for our productions.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of SAG/ AFTRA guidelines for production. Works closely with Business Affairs to ensure the Agency is in compliance with the SAG/AFTRA contract at all times.
- Works with Business Affairs and outside resources (when needed) to negotiate and secure rights and clearances for work as needed.
Qualifications:
- Creative, agile and resourceful.
- Highly organized, self-motivated and accountable.
- Able to identify and solve problems while keeping a cool head in challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Ability to build consensus among diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Can develop strong working relationships inside and outside of the Agency.
- BA/BS Degree from a four-year college (or equivalent experience), 3 or more years of related work experience in a production environment. Broadcast experience preferred.
