We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Training Manager to oversee the development and implementation of training programs for our service technicians. As the Technical Training Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Training Program Development: Design comprehensive training programs for service technicians and advisors, covering technical skills, customer service, safety protocols, and new technologies.
- Curriculum Design: Develop training materials, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises, ensuring content is current, engaging, and effective.
- Implementation and Delivery: Coordinate and conduct training sessions either in-person or through virtual platforms, ensuring all participants receive consistent and high-quality training experiences.
- Performance Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback mechanisms, performance metrics, and skill assessments, adjusting content and delivery methods as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and service managers to identify training needs, prioritize initiatives, and align training programs with business objectives.
- Apprentice Program: Build new talent by collaborating with our service center managers as well as local colleges to identify up and coming personal with a desire to grow into a technician role.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all training programs adhere to regulatory requirements and safety standards, keeping abreast of industry developments and best practices.
Requirements:
- A history in the automotive industry with a minimum of 10 years automotive service or related experience.
- Proven experience in automotive service management or training, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated proficiency in curriculum development and instructional design.
- Ability to analyze training needs and develop effective solutions that improve team performance.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and virtual training platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent are a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training sessions or conferences.
