The Periscope Group is seeking a full time OT or PT in Los Angeles, CA and surrounding area.

Join the Periscope Group’s expanding network of physical and occupational therapists around the country who perform one time only, in-home medical necessity assessments. These assessments provide objective recommendations to health plans about the equipment and services their members need to safely complete their activities of daily living and remain functionally independent in their home. We do not provide patient care. Documentation is simple and completed via secure online portal.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform one-time comprehensive medical need assessments in an individual’s home.
• Manage your own schedule of assessments and documentation
• Complete documentation in a timely manner in collaboration with the review team as needed
• Provide recommendations for equipment, service, and care needs

Qualifications and Requirements

• Current licensure as a Physical or Occupational Therapist (Sorry, No PTAs or COTAs).
• Malpractice/Liability Insurance (may be purchased at the time of job offer. The cost is typically $200 or less per year).
• Reliable vehicle for work
• An ability to complete physical requirements of the job to include: lifting up to 30-pounds, navigating stairs/any variety of dwelling conditions, and changing position in order to perform a physical assessment, occasionally, as needed.

• Experience with home safety assessments
• Experience with durable medical equipment, assistive technology and home modifications
• Comfort assessing a wide variety of conditions and diagnoses
• Willingness to potentially cover a large geographic area
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and writing
• Comfort using technology and electronic documentation
• Ability to think outside the box, utilize critical thinking skills and come up with appropriate solutions
• Desire to continually learn and grow
• Prior experience is not required - we are willing to train the right person
