About the role

This individual serves as a Contract reviewer for the Mount Sinai School of Medicine/ Mount Sinai Health System.  Interacts with the faculty, departmental administrators, finance and institutional compliance committees on all industry sponsored research programs. Represents the Institution to for-profit funding agencies and drug and device manufacturers. FACTS offers a range of services that assist investigators and research personnel with the pre-award submission process of industry-funded Agreements. 

  • Report to the Senior Associate Dean of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Associate Director for Contracts regarding research-related activities.
  • Provide reports as requested for departments and individual researchers
  • Negotiate Industry funded agreements and amendments on behalf of Mount Sinai School of Medicine for specific Departments. Generally, negotiations occur with pharmaceutical or device companies or Contract Research Organizations (CRO) and have broad legal representations to the Institution.
  • Quality Control review to ensure that quality parameters are effectively implemented.
  • Confirmation that agreements meet all necessary standards and requirements of the Institution and applicable law.
  • The need for significant oversight and training in this area is expected.
  • Review and negotiate (if applicable) funding agreements from other Educational Institutions and For-Profit Sponsors. 
  •  Negotiate site agreements for large scale multi-center clinical trials with coordinating centers at ISMMS. The need for significant oversight and training in this  area is expected.
  •  Liaison to the Mount Sinai Innovation Partners (MSIP) for Intellectual Property (IP), Invention and Data terms pertaining to for-profit agreements. The need for significant oversight and training in this area is expected.
  • Liaison to Risk Management for Certificate of Insurance requests.
  • Information Technology:  Must have a strong working knowledge of information systems preferably the Contract Management Systems (CMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Routine entry and maintenance of data for all non-federal sponsorship in the CMS. The need for significant oversight and training in this area is expected
  • Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and related work experience; JD preferred.
  • Six years of related experience
  • Certifications Preferred NCURA,SRA or MAJI

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65,885.00 - $116,974.99 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
