Job Title: Government Finance Sr. Analyst

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 in office days week

Working Location: Indianapolis, IN

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Government Finance Sr. Analyst. As a Government Finance Sr. Analyst for Rolls-Royce, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other relevant regulations. This position will require a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, government contracting, and financial reporting. You’ll work with the broader Government Finance and Compliance team to support all Defence Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audits and assist in other government accounting and compliance functions.

What you will be doing:

• Work directly with Customer Representatives including Defence Contract Management Agency and Defence Contract Audit Agency
• Understanding the requirements of US Department of Defence (DOD): Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defence Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards regulations to interpret company compliance and advise on improvements when required and ensuring prompt and accurate responses to the requests from the Government Agencies in support of the Business and Financial audits and reviews
• Strong SAP financial data gathering and advanced MS Excel skills for submission preparation, performing SAP downloads; data mining, creating pivot tables and analysing data to support government requests.
• Retrieve and reconcile supporting documentation to substantiate proposed or claimed costs on government contracts in an organized manner, maintaining support files,
• Ability to work with other departments with people with differing levels of experience and knowledge and communicate effectively while liaising with the Government auditors to clarify requests and explain processes/supporting documentation
• Participating in reviews of expenses for adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 31 for allowable cost determination,
• Participating in reviews of proposal basis of estimate ensuring adherence to Estimating System and supporting fair and reasonableness

Basic Requirements:

• A minimum 2 years of experience in US Government related audits and/or Cost Accounting experience.
• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 4+ years of experience in an accounting, business or finance role OR;
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 2+ years of experience in an accounting, business or finance role OR;
• A Master's degree in Accounting, Finance OR;
• A JD/PhD in an accounting, business or finance role OR;
• In lieu of a degree, 6 years of experience in an accounting, business or finance role.

Preferred Requirements:

• A fundamental understanding of accounting principles and processes and be familiar with audit testing and substantiation requirements
