General Summary:

Unum is seeking a highly capable and strategic Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that align IT financial management, enterprise architecture, and configuration data governance. This role is pivotal in integrating platforms, Apptio, Bizzdesign, CMDB, and other systems as necessary to support cost transparency, architectural planning, and operational efficiency.

As a senior-level contributor, you will manage large-scale projects with diverse stakeholders, applying advanced project management methodologies and business analysis skills. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery practices across the organization.

Job Specifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

• 6+ years of experience in IT project management, business analysis, or financial systems integration.

• Demonstrate a proactive mindset and a willingness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and business domains.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in project management tools and PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

• Lead large cross-functional IT initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and quality expectations.

• Apply advanced project management skills and methodologies to manage complex technology and business projects.

• Translate strategic business needs into well-defined project goals, objectives, and deliverables.

• Coordinate with IT, Finance, and Business stakeholders to align project outcomes with enterprise goals.

• Manage integration efforts across Apptio, Bizzdesign, CMDB, and other systems as necessary, ensuring data consistency and alignment with financial and architectural frameworks.

• Develop and implement communication plans to manage risks, issues, and stakeholder expectations.

• Ensure business requirements are accurately captured, validated, and traced through testing to implementation.

• Maintain complete and current project documentation and contribute to improvements in project delivery frameworks.

Strategic Alignment & Business Analysis

• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, IT operations, other technical functional areas, and IT financial management teams to ensure project alignment with strategic roadmaps.

• Support the integration of financial and operational data across platforms to enable cost modeling, forecasting, and value realization.

• Apply business analyst skills to elicit, document, and validate requirements, ensuring solutions meet business needs.

• Perform data quality checks and coordinate ongoing maintenance of integrated systems and reporting tools.
