We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering Maintenance & Utilities (EMU) Reliability Engineering Group.
Senior Reliability Engineer
As a member of the Engineering Maintenance & Utilities (EMU) Reliability Engineering Group, the primary role of the Senior Reliability Engineer is to improve asset reliability of manufacturing process and utility equipment within an end-to-end (E2E) operating unit at a Vaccine manufacturing facility. This improvement is achieved via two main, interrelated functions of the Senior Reliability Engineer: 1) Reliability improvement opportunity identification through analysis and observation, and 2) Reliability Program Management and application.
The first function requires the employment of analytical and collaborative skills to evaluate asset reliability, identify improvement opportunities, and to partner with others in order to achieve the most effective solution. The second function requires Program Management and Program Development skills, based on the opportunities identified. The Senior Reliability Engineer will apply reliability tools available via established, existing Reliability Programs such as RBAM (Risk-Based Asset Management), Maintenance Strategies, Asset Availability Tracking, etc., will be expected to identify any gaps in our existing Reliability Programs, and to close those gaps through continuous improvement of an existing program, or, if a needed capability does not exist, through the development of new Reliability Programs.
To summarize, the Senior Reliability Engineer is responsible for proactively identifying and reducing or eliminating asset risk through the application of existing or new Reliability tools and processes. The Senior Reliability Engineer will frequently interact with peers as well as leads within Operations, Technical Operations, Maintenance, as well as other functional groups, to provide the results and recommendation based on technical evaluations within their respective area of coverage.
Primary Responsibilities
Technical
Being the reliability engineering focal point for integrated process teams (IPTs), including interfacing with team members, using established reliability tools to understand risk and the status of risk-mitigating actions, and communicating status of risks and actions
Field application of Reliability tools and principles to ensure that equipment operates in compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
Identify and initiate preventive/predictive maintenance processes and precision maintenance techniques where gaps exist
Perform root cause failure analysis on equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence
Serve as technical liaison for capital projects to ensure reliability, maintainability and operability of installed equipment
Monitor the performance of equipment reliability metrics, investigate variance from targets and implement action items to improve performance
Provide technical input to support production area quality deviation investigations
Conducting spare part reviews or maintenance reviews to ensure that CMMS data is properly configured to support reliability efforts (ensuring accurate asset bill of materials and effective maintenance job plans)
Leadership
Project Team Leadership, including coaching and guiding team members
Significant project management, including project accountability (e.g. scoping, planning, scheduling, forecasting) with minimal supervision
Execute activities to meet production targets, product and maintenance cost reduction targets
Influencing others to adopt different points of view as appropriate
Professional Networking and Relationship Management
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent technical major or Bachelor degree
Required Experience and Skills
Four years’ in a functional area such as Operations, Technology, Engineering, Maintenance, Military, Formal Reliability and/or previous supervisory experience
Four years’ expertise in industrial manufacturing, maintenance, industrial engineering and/or reliability engineering
Strategic and effective Program Management | Communication and interpersonal skills
