Job Description
The Business Unit Engagement Director (BUED), US Oncology will be responsible for managing a team of Campaign Development Leads (CDLs) in the development and delivery of promotional campaigns, customer-centric educational resources, and multichannel assets to achieve business objectives and drive results. Works within and across the US Oncology organization to align on business priorities and translates brand strategy into customer experiences and promotional assets, across relevant channels and media opportunities. Ensures that all promotional work reflects a deep understanding of Oncology customers and their needs, and that these insights are thoughtfully incorporated into credible and compelling customer engagements.
Additionally, this leader will play a critical role and be responsible for supporting a successful formation and integration within their area of responsibility across people, processes, and technology within the Oncology Business Unit. Key responsibilities include:
People Integration: Lead change management initiatives to align teams, foster collaboration, and build a unified culture. Identify talent gaps and champion professional development to ensure the team is equipped for the to be successful
Process Integration: Establish and harmonize workflows, standardize best practices, and streamline campaign planning and execution across legacy and new systems. Implement robust performance tracking and feedback mechanisms to ensure continuous improvement.
Technology Integration: Oversee the adoption and integration of digital platforms, channels, data analytics tools, and CRM systems to enable seamless operations and data-driven decision-making. Ensure technology solutions support both current and future business needs.
To accelerate growth and maximize opportunity, the Director must:
Identify and assess capability gaps, recommending investments in talent, technology, or partnerships.
Work with the business to drive strategic planning to uncover new market opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and accountability
Work across stakeholders to ensure executional excellence of strategic marketing plans to achieve key business objectives
Primary Responsibilities include:
Leads an omnichannel promotions team for assigned Oncology brands and therapeutic areas, as well as cross-franchise promotional initiatives. Responsibilities may span healthcare professionals, consumers/patients, payers, and key account customers.
Oversees and shapes the communication strategy and demonstrates a deep understanding of customer channel preferences and behavioral segmentation. Proactively identifies issues/risks and works quickly to implement solutions. Facilitates rapid, disciplined decision-making and identifies opportunities for increased effectiveness and efficiency of business operations and outcomes.
Leads several Campaign development leads (CDLs) to develop and execute promotional plans that (1) are integrated across customers and channels, (2) have detailed objectives and metrics plans, and (3) ensures promotional plans are refined to realize optimal return on investment.
People Management: Demonstrates key leadership behaviors to create a high-performing and engaged team. Responsible for talent development and management of direct reports, in accordance with employee development plans and company policies.
Transformational leadership: Drives strategic initiatives to improve business results, customer experience, and compliance. Demonstrates the ability to sponsor and coach Agile ways of working. Leads the capabilities development of the team, supporting the culture and mindset shift associated with agile work processes.
Planning and Financial Management: Leads the planning process for the Oncology omnichannel promotions, with a focus on promotional effectiveness, Customer Journeys, and innovation. Maximizes the effectiveness of the promotional budget, consistent with financial business objectives.
External Agency Management: Manages agency partnerships to ensure deliverables are of high quality, aligned to strategic business objectives, operating expectations, and customer needs. Oversees agency performance management and remediations. Accountable for the integration and proficiency of the Agency model for Oncology and leads future evolutions and capabilities.
Remains current on trends in agile methodology and design thinking. Identifies industry-wide best practices and innovations.
