POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial/Ag -Loan Assistant will provide administrative - assistance and support for multiple Commercial / Ag lending officers while acting as a liaison between the clients and the Bank to ensure all commercial clients within their region are serviced professionally to meet and exceed client expectations. They serve as the loan documentation contact person and perform administrative duties.


OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE:

  • Ensure that loan files contain accurate documents, signatures, dates and other relevant data are collected and/or recorded.
  • Assist customers with questions concerning existing accounts.
  • Provide back up to other Loan Assistants and Lenders on an as needed basis

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Commercial / Ag bankers, including but not limited to updating and typing loan applications, assembling documentation for loans, ordering credit reports, attorney work, title searches, flood determinations, UCC searches, and appraisals. 
  • Prepares loan disbursements, payments and draws on lines of credit, wire transfers and account transfers on behalf of the commercial customers.
  • Works effectively with a diverse group of bank personnel at several levels of the organization in the coordination of commercial application requirements leading up to document delivery.
  • Completes credit references.
  • Data entry using different software programs – primarily MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Assist in collection and organization of financial information needed in evaluation of credit. Prepare and mail letters to customers requesting updated financial information. Save financial and other customer related documentation in the public drive. Insure all documentation is imaged in Director.
  • Adheres to Loan Policy and Compliance Regulations
  • Processes new and renewal notes.Closes loans for Commercial / Ag Bankers following their instructions.
  • Schedules loan closings and Banker’s appointments.
  • Follow up and maintain pending/exception list for loan files.
  • Corresponds with customers by phone, in writing or via electronic communication as appropriate.
  • Complete CIP and other related documentation associated with identity verification for borrowers and guarantors.
  • Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulations that apply to position.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience along with computer experience. 


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Notary Public Commission and Valid Driver's License


OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS

Good telephone etiquette. Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point applications as well as research skills using Internet search tools. Organized, detail-oriented, and diligent work ethic. Good analytical skills. Able to handle multiple ongoing tasks. Able to work independently.


COMPLIANCE:

  • As generally applicable to F&M Bank and commensurate with these job functions, this job role includes accountabilities for following Bank policies and related procedures, as well as regulatory requirements involving federal and state laws, regulations, and related guidance.
  • Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including accurate completion of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) when applicable, Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the USA PATRIOT Act. Adhere to Customer Identification, Customer Due Diligence and reporting of suspicious activities to the BSA Department.
