Johnson Controls is hiring! We would like YOU to be part of a global product engineering team! The Principal Mechanical Engineer will work under the Engineering Manager to support design and development of new products, and sustain existing products in North America. This is an onsite position based in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the office, or open to relocate.

How you will do it
Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles, and processes related to fluid, thermal, and other mechanical aspects of air-cooled scroll products
Has proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product through engineering change processes
Implements test programs to validate performance and reliability of mechanical systems and components
Working with plant engineers to support production of products and resolve manufacturing issues.
Analyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on test data Works closely with the design and manufacturing teams to develop and implement VAVE projects
Applies mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED and ASME
Crafts and reviews technical documentation for use within the organization
Provides product technical support to application and field service organizations
Share your knowledge and experience and mentor others in the team
What we look for
BS in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years of experience in a related field, refrigeration experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external audiences
Proficient with prioritizing and processing large amounts of data, summarize findings, develop conclusions and recommendation
Experience with product development, project management, and sustaining of configurable systems
Ability to learn quickly and share knowledge, experience and lesson learnt with teammates
