Department Summary:

- Assisting clinicians in a fast-paced environment (including but not limited to- obtaining and recording patient vital signs, rooming patients, assisting clinicians during examinations, obtaining pertinent reports/imaging)
- Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
- Scheduling, coordinating and performing Breath tests (lactose and glucose) within clinic setting in accordance with competency and manufacturer's guidelines.
- Collaborating with Breath Test Program physician director and RN supervisor to ensure patient safety, accurate dosing, accurate substrate preparation, appropriate patient preparation and availability of appropriate substrate orders.
- Documenting breath test results in EMR and communicating results to covering physician within identified timeframe.
- Ensuring maintenance and calibration of breath test machine per manufacturer's guidelines.
- Participating in multidisciplinary breath test planning and coordination.
- Providing general support for clinical operations, including stocking, maintaining and ordering supplies and equipment, and transporting.
- Working a schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts, primarily in Needham, with occasional rotation to Boston.
Education:
- A HS Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of Clinical Assistant experience or related healthcare experience.
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
