Seasonal Summer Internship Opportunity
Duration: 16 weeks
Hours: 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday
Position Purpose: Work closely with our Farm Team to support all aspects of sustainable vegetable production and Farm Share programming.
What You Will Need:
- Education: High school diploma or current enrollment in college courses.
- Experience:
- Preferred experience with vegetable and flower production.
- Preferred experience with safe food handling.
- Preferred experience with public speaking and volunteer management.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills to assist with volunteers and promote The Farm with an engaging, positive demeanor.
- Comfort in outdoor settings in all kinds of weather.
- Availability to work within scheduled programs.
- Ability to work a physically demanding job five days a week (standing, lifting, squatting, bending, twisting, and more).
- Confidence in public speaking to groups.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with Farmers to implement the annual production of vegetables and flowers to support Farm programs.
- Assist with volunteers and promote The Farm with an engaging, positive demeanor.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information related to patients, physicians, colleagues, and visitors at Trinity Health McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm.
- Ensure job duties are performed in the safest possible manner, reporting all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
