Onsite Sr. Coordinator, Inventory Services

Shift: Mon – Fri, days

Wage: $24 - 26 per hour

What we’re looking for: 

• High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree or undergraduate degree in business or science related field is preferred.

• 2+ years’ experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, and/or customer service required.

• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel.

• Understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, and/or purchasing required.

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to display a professional, can-do demeanor required.     

• Able to lift 50 lbs.

• Effective communication in writing and verbally with both the customer and internal contacts required.

• Proactive thinking with the ability to prioritize tasks, self-manage and motivate, in order to meet goals.

• Proficient in trouble shooting with the confidence to make sound business decisions with limited consultation with the manager required.

• High regard for safety, quality, protocols, and procedures with ability to adhere to and administer policies required.

• Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, and security clearances required.

• Inside sales experience and cross-referencing skills are considered a huge plus.

• Spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG and Hazwoper training also considered a huge plus.
  GMP, GLP, CPR, and OHSA training desired, not required. 

In this role you will:

• Be responsible for inventory management of consumables, chemicals, and samples, ensuring accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off site, fulfilling customer metric reporting, monitoring slow moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, and yearly physical inventories.

• Provides daily customer service by communicating with the customer relative to inventory management.

• Perform purchasing functions including but not limited to: back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.

• Help with glass washing and autoclaving of lab materials.

• Process order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.

• Handle shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, solving routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and conducting equipment inspections.

• Handle hazardous material and prepare shipping and packaging documentation requirements.

• Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems (SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW, and customer specific systems) in fulfillment of job duties.

• Meet goals and objectives regarding safety, performance, and quality.

• Identify and create programs for enhanced service efficiencies.

• Document change management.

• Deliver inbound packages to customer contacts.

• Updates and maintains standard operating procedures.

• Other duties as assigned.
