At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Project/Task Sr Manager a typical day will include the following duties:
JOB DESCRIPTION
This project manager assists the customer and senior project manager by focusing on innovation, training, and governance/process, among other areas as needed. The manager helps to manage an engineering team and to support and advise the customer. As a member of a project team charged with supporting operational requirements, this professional serves as one of two primary interfaces between the project team and other groups, to include support needed by other team members. The manager conducts business with team members at more than one site, other elements in the office, and other components on appropriate matters. This manager demonstrates thorough operational knowledge and expertise in procedures to guide, manage and support projects. The successful candidate possesses relevant experience and a successful background in management in various operational mission areas. Experience in supporting and managing high-volume data collection and processing operations is preferable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- 8+ years of related experience
- Additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides ongoing support and enhancements to existing capabilities
- Result-oriented by troubleshooting complex problems
- Reviews, tracks, and responds to high level customer action
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment and foster teamwork
- Polished communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of and ability to collaborate with other client counterparts
- Ability to respond to short deadlines with timely and accurate information
- Ability to analyze, prioritize effectively, problem solve and to work several tasks concurrently
- Demonstrated research and analytical ability
- Strong writing, editing and verbal skills
- Thorough knowledge of records system; ability to search for additional information
- Ability to coach, counsel, and advise based on previous relevant customer experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current PMP or other relevant PMI certification, or
- Other suitable business or management certification, degree, or qualifications
