Sony in Lund is looking for an hourly worker experienced in Java programming language.

The work evolves around an internal application with both Client and Service backend, where Client is a PC application written upon Eclipse RCP platform and backend services are using Spring Cloud framework, both with Java 17 as foundation.

What can we offer?

We will offer you an interesting task within our multinational team engaging closely with our colleagues in Japan. Our team is responsible for developing and operating core SW services & tools for Sony smartphones (Xperia™) as well as other product areas. Our team covers a wide range of SW engineering competencies; frontend, backend (AWS), Android and more.

What you will do day-to-day

Bug hunt! Your task is to track down and solve bugs and miss-features in our application. This involves:

• Understand the bug.
• Reproduce the bug.
• Find out what part of the source code is impacted.
• Design and implement a solution.
• Verify the solution.

In collaboration with our small team with experienced Java developers

Competences we are looking for

• LTH engineering student with 3+ years into his/her degree (Bachelor or Master).

• Fluent in English.
• Experienced programmer in Java, knowledge in Eclipse or other equivalent IDE.
• Knowledge in source code versioning systems, e.g., git, github.
• Able to work 10+ hours per week on this project.
• Able to spend min. 4 hours (half a day) at our Sony Office in Lund every Tuesday or Thursday.
