As a Security Guard - Armed Patrol - Overnight Shift in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help prevent unwanted activity, and providing exceptional customer service and communication to everyone you encounter. This position requires you to be armed and to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties, so a valid driver's license and the appropriate armed guard credentials are necessary. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.
• Operate and maintain assigned equipment, including firearms, in accordance with company policies and training.
• Complete required reports and documentation related to security-related incidents and daily activities.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed during incidents.
• Follow all Allied Universal protocols and client-specific guidelines while performing duties at the government location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local laws and regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred. 
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
